After backpacking in several miles to photograph this spectacular wildflower meadow, it rained for a few hours. Convinced the rain would break at the last minute, I stood here getting soaked while finding a composition and protecting my camera. The rain gave way to this explosive sunset only for a few minutes.
Woolly Mule's Ears carpet a meadow overlooking the iconic Marcellina Mountain in Crested Butte, Colorado. This sunset took place on July 14, 2019, my 30th birthday. Great gift from Mother Nature if you ask me.
